Curriculum
The Gretton Curriculum
Our school motto is "Striving to be better every day" and our highly ambitious curriculum provides children with the platform to develop into outstanding future citizens, ready for the next stage of their education and to make a positive contribution to society.
The curriculum incorporates the best of what has been thought and said and works towards National Curriculum end points and beyond. Its design has been informed by subject specialists from, for example, the Historical Association and the Geographical Association. The curriculum is accessible to all, removing barriers to learning and powerfully addressing disadvantage.
There is a strong emphasis on developing children's confidence and character; children develop into well-rounded citizens with a strong moral compass and the social and emotional skills to manage in all situations. The 50 B4 Year 7 programme develops children's cultural capital and inspires awe and wonder. Our House Team structure builds a community ethos and Forest School provides opportunities to engage in learning outside the classroom.
